The ground force deployed for the war against Iraq was in many ways the finest army ever committed to battle. The various elements of thisarmy were maintained at a peak readiness, training and advanced technology.
Aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, and numerous support ships were also deployed to the waters surrounding Iraq and Kuwait. The Tomahawk missle was a major force which helped to bring about the importance of the battleship again. This was in addition to the dominance of Naval Airpower.
